History & design
Introduced in 2007, a few months after the Vi6, the Soundcraft Vi4 is the compact member of the Vi range, also born of the joint development with Studer within Harman.
The surface carries 24 motorised faders across three Vistonics II modules. Each module pairs a colour touch screen with sixteen encoders and sixteen keys on the glass, and controls eight input channels: routing, gain, digital trim, delay, filters, four-band parametric EQ, compressor, limiter, gate, de-esser and pan. The FaderGlow system colour-codes each fader's function.
The console gives access to 48 inputs and 27 output buses, usable as masters, groups, auxes or matrices. It shares the range's SCore engine, the local rack and stageboxes linked over optical MADI, and the processing options (assignable Lexicon effects, 30-band BSS graphic EQ on every output).
