History & design
The Soundcraft Si3 is a large-format live digital mixing console descended from the Spirit 328/324 control topology. It offers 64 mic/line inputs, 4 stereo line inputs, 24 aux buses, 8 matrices and L/R/C mix and monitor outputs, with a physical output and meter for every bus.
Its signature is the Virtual Channel Strip (VCS): a row of rotary encoders sits above the 32 motorised faders (two banks of 16, four layers each). In Channel mode the encoders rebuild a full analogue strip; in Global mode each controls the same function across all channels. Processing includes 4-band parametric EQ and dynamics per channel, four Lexicon processors, BSS graphic EQs and dbx dynamics. D21m expansion slots add MADI, ADAT, CobraNet, EtherSound or AES/EBU.
