History & design
The Vi1 is the smallest console in Soundcraft's Vi series. It carries the Vistonics II interface — a 22-inch widescreen touchscreen that shows the parameters of 16 channels side by side, with two rows of 16 rotary encoders embedded in the screen. The surface, just over a metre wide, lines up 16 motorised channel faders, 8 output/VCA faders and 2 master faders.
The standalone chassis offers 32 local analogue inputs and 27 analogue outputs, plus AES/EBU and S/PDIF I/O. Simultaneous capacity rises to 64 input channels by adding a Vi-series stagebox over optical MADI. The 64 mono inputs route to 24 multifunction busses plus LR and mono, 8 of which can be switched to matrix mode.
Processing relies on the 40-bit floating-point engine shared across the Vi series, with 4 Lexicon FX engines and BSS graphic EQ on every output buss. Automation, copy/paste and offline editing are inherited from the larger models.
