History & design
The Si Expression is a range of compact digital consoles launched by Soundcraft in 2012 at the entry of the brand's digital catalogue. It comes in three frame sizes: Si Expression 1 (16 faders), Si Expression 2 (24 faders) and Si Expression 3 (32 faders), all able to mix up to 66 processing channels. Each channel has a high-pass filter, input delay, gate, compressor and four-band EQ.
The console borrows elements from the larger Vi series: motorised faders with FaderGlow (function-colour backlighting) and a central colour touchscreen. Processing leans on the sister brands of the HARMAN group: four Lexicon effects engines, dbx dynamics, BSS filters. A 64x64 expansion slot takes network cards (MADI, Dante, CobraNet), and the ViSi Remote iPad app allows wireless control. The Si Expression sits below the Si Performer and Si Impact ranges in the Soundcraft line-up.
