Our take
History & design
The Quantum7 is DiGiCo's flagship for live sound. It keeps the SD7 surface (three fader sections, three 15-inch LCD touch-screens, 52 touch-sensitive motorised faders) but replaces Stealth processing with the Quantum engine, built around three seventh-generation FPGAs running in dual redundancy.
The console offers 256 fully processed input channels, 128 aux/sub-group busses, a 48 x 48 matrix, a master up to 5.1 and 36 control groups. The Quantum engine adds features the SD range lacks: Nodal processing (256 instances), insertable Mustard strips (80), Spice Rack emulations and extended solo handling. Connectivity is based on eight assignable MADI connections, two DMI slots for AoIP (Dante and others) and the Optocore optical loop, enabling widely distributed stage systems.
Shown at ProLight+Sound 2018 and shipping from June 2018, the Quantum7 targets major tours, large festivals and high-end broadcast production.
