The Quantum5 keeps the SD5 frame and ergonomics — 37 faders, three 15-inch full-colour TFT touch-screens — and fits DiGiCo's Quantum engine, built on seventh-generation FPGAs. It offers 256 input channels, up to 128 busses, a master up to 5.1 and a 36 x 36 matrix, with more than 450 processing paths available at 96 kHz.
The engine brings the Quantum features: Mustard and Nodal processing, Spice Rack emulations and True Solo. Connectivity includes four redundant MADI ports (or eight individual), two DMI slots for AoIP, a built-in Waves SoundGrid port and up to two Optocore loops, with two redundant power supplies as standard.
Shown at NAMM 2020, the Quantum5 also served as an upgrade path: the Quantum engine can be fitted into an existing SD5 frame.
