The DiGiCo S21 is a digital mixing console introduced in 2015, the first of an S range designed to bring Stealth Digital Processing to an unprecedented price point for the British manufacturer. It offers 48 Flexi channels (mono or stereo) with full processing, 16 Flexi aux/sub-group busses and a 10 × 8 matrix, all driven from a fully assignable surface.
The surface uses 21 touch-sensitive 100 mm motorised faders, 26 touch-sensitive rotaries and two 10-inch multitouch screens. Local I/O includes 24 mic/line inputs, 12 line outputs, AES/EBU I/O, GPI/GPO and word clock. Expansion runs through a MADI BNC port and, above all, two DMI slots taking up to 64 I/O each (Dante, MADI, Optocore, Waves SoundGrid and other cards). The UB MADI interface turns the console into a USB audio interface of up to 48 channels for recording and virtual soundcheck.
The S21 is also controlled via offline software and an iPad app, and accepts the DMI-AMM module for automatic microphone mixing. It has a single power supply.
