History & design
The DHD RX2 is a modular digital mixing console for radio and television, introduced in 2019 by German manufacturer DHD. Built for the demanding workflows of on-air studios, master control rooms and OB vehicles, it uses two module types: a central module (52-5810) and fader modules (52-5820). Each integrates a 10.1-inch touchscreen, an integral part of the system that operates without a PC. The console scales from compact 6- or 12-fader versions to large control-room desks of up to 96 faders.
The interface is fully configurable: each display shows exactly the buttons, meters and settings you want, with multilingual Unicode support. The central section combines assignable hardware buttons with a 7-inch vertical touchscreen using adaptive labels for fast tactile access to monitoring and talkback; it carries a talkback mic with preamp, an amplified cue speaker, an ambient-light sensor for automatic brightness control and high-grade volume pots. The 100 mm motorised faders and silent RGB buttons offer per-channel functions (ON, OFF, PFL, ACCESS, LAYER).
The RX2 runs the Series 52 firmware (shared with the SX2 and TX2) and its 40-bit floating-point DSP core; it is configured with Toolbox. The central module carries the main audio I/O, complemented by DHD cores and I/O units.
