Our take
History & design
Argo is Calrec's generation of IP broadcast mixing consoles, launched in 2020 and built around the ImPulse DSP core. It breaks the traditional geographic tie between processing and control surface: the ST2110-native surface drives one or more ImPulse cores that can sit anywhere on the network, including in the cloud (ImPulse V).
The range comes in three surfaces sharing the same interchangeable panels: the Argo Q (flagship, up to 240 faders and 2384 DSP paths, dual rotary rows), the Argo S (medium) and the Argo M (compact, 36/48 faders). Each fader offers 12 dual layers, GUI touchscreens, configurable TFT meters and fully customisable soft-control panels.
Designed for premium sport and entertainment, Argo supports immersive mixing (Dolby Atmos, NGA) with multi-format downmix and spill, and integrates with remote-production workflows through True Control 2.0, which lets one surface remotely access up to five other consoles.
