The Calrec Omega is a digital broadcast mixing console, unveiled in 2007 and built around Calrec's Bluefin technology, which concentrates all processing on a single DSP card. It offers 160 mono DSP paths — packaged as 48 stereo and 64 mono channels — allowing up to 24 full 5.1 surround channels, essential for the HD production of the day.
Available in three frame sizes (24, 40 or 56 faders), it provides 8 audio groups configurable as 5.1, stereo or mono, 20 auxiliary outputs (20 mono or 10 stereo), 48 outputs for multitrack or general-purpose feeds, and 2 main stereo or 5.1 program outputs with full EQ and compressor/limiter, plus stereo downmix control of the surround main outputs — invaluable for simultaneous HD and SD transmission. It integrates with Calrec's Hydra audio network.
