History & design
The Soundcraft Vi7000, introduced in 2015, is the top model of the second-generation Vi series, replacing the Vi6. It mixes up to 128 input channels to 32 mono/stereo buses, with an I/O system that can reach 384 points.
Its interface is built on Vistonics II touchscreens, which set rotary encoders and switches directly beneath the display: each section controls eight channels with immediate access to gain, filters, parametric EQ, compressor, gate and de-esser. FaderGlow faders change colour according to their function.
Processing is 40-bit floating point at 96 kHz. Onboard are eight Lexicon multi-FX units, BSS DPR901ii integration and a BSS graphic EQ on every bus. The system is built around a new Local Rack and Active Breakout Box, with ViSi Connect expansion (EtherSound, CobraNet, Dante, MADI).
