History & design
The Mackie Onyx24 is the largest desk in the Onyx series relaunched in late 2020. Fully analog in the signal path, it carries 18 Onyx mic preamps (up to 60 dB of gain) across 14 mono and 4 stereo mic/line channels plus a stereo line input, for 24 channels in total.
Every channel offers a 3-band Perkins “British” EQ with swept mid, a high-pass filter and three aux sends. A built-in effects processor (reverbs, delays, chorus) and a small colour-screen command section round out the surface.
Its headline feature is the 24×4 class-compliant USB interface at 96 kHz/24-bit: the console records twenty-four tracks to a Mac or PC, and also offers an SD-card stereo recorder and Bluetooth playback. Waveform OEM and a DAW Essentials plug-in bundle are included.
