History & design
The mc²66 is a digital production console from Lawo launched in the mid-2000s, aimed at television, radio and demanding live production. It is built around the HD Core DSP, offering 888 DSP channels and 144 summing buses, and a non-blocking routing matrix reaching up to 8192 crosspoints.
Audio processing runs at 24-bit / 96 kHz. The console handles surround formats up to 7.1 with lossless downmix of production data, and integrates loudness metering compliant with EBU R128 and ATSC A/85. Up to 16 HD Cores can be networked, allowing installations shared across several surfaces. Designed for OB vans, studios, theatres and conference centres, it favours a high power-to-footprint ratio.
