History & design
The Lawo mc²96 is Lawo's grand audio-production console, unveiled at NAB 2017 and aimed at broadcast, TV production and live. It comes in frames from 24 to 200 faders (64 on most installs), with a stand-alone 16-fader extender. The surface features 21.5-inch Full-HD touchscreens, in-strip TFTs and touch-sensitive colour-coded encoders, with real-time video thumbnails shown on the fader mini-TFTs.
Designed for IP video-production environments, it natively supports the SMPTE ST 2110, AES67, Ravenna and Dante standards. Its local I/O includes 16 mic/line inputs, 16 line outs, 8 AES3 I/O, 8 GPIOs and a MADI port. It operates from 44.1 to 96 kHz, offers routing capacity up to 8,192 × 8,192 crosspoints and up to 1,024 DSP channels.
