AMS Neve

AMS Neve was formed in 1992 from the merger of Advanced Music Systems (AMS), founded in 1976 in Burnley by Mark Crabtree and Stuart Nevison, and Neve Electronics, the console house founded by Rupert Neve in 1961. AMS made its name with digital processors (the DMX 15-80 delay, the RMX-16 reverb) and then with AudioFile, the first commercial hard-disk recorder-editor. AMS's digital-console arm led to the assignable Logic surfaces and then the Digital Film Console, which earned Mark Crabtree a technical Oscar in 2000. The company, still based in Burnley, continues to build both analogue and digital consoles.
