History & design
Introduced in 2012, the Yamaha CL3 is a 72-channel digital console (64 mono and 8 stereo) with 24 mix buses, 8 matrices, a stereo bus and a mono bus. It includes a redundant Dante network card as standard to drive the Rio-series stageboxes and any Dante device, with 8 local mic preamps on the surface.
The surface offers 16 faders in the left section, 8 faders in the central Centralogic section and 2 master faders, all around a touchscreen. Processing includes the Portico emulations from Rupert Neve Designs (Premium Rack) and Yamaha's own effects. The CL3 sits between the CL1 (more compact) and the CL5 (wider) in a range sharing the same engine.
