History & design
The Yamaha TF5 is a digital mixing console launched in 2015, the top of the TF ('TouchFlow') series. It handles 48 mixing channels (40 mono, 2 stereo and 2 FX returns) into 20 AUX buses (8 mono, 6 stereo), plus a stereo bus and a sub. Local I/O includes 32 XLR/TRS combo inputs with recallable class-A D-PRE preamps, 2 RCA stereo inputs and 16 XLR outputs.
The surface has 33 motorized faders and a touchscreen driven by TouchFlow Operation, with one-knob compression and EQ and QuickPro Presets. An expansion slot takes the NY64-D card for Dante networking (and thus the Tio1608-D stagebox) or an NY-MD64 card for MADI. The console records 2 tracks to a USB drive and acts as a 34x34 interface to a DAW via Nuendo Live. It runs at 48 kHz.
