History & design
Launched in 2012, the Yamaha CL5 is the flagship of the CL series (alongside CL3 and CL1). It handles 72 mono and 8 stereo input channels routed to 16 MIX and 8 MATRIX buses. The surface carries 34 faders across a 16-fader left bank, the central 8-fader Centralogic section, an 8-fader right bank and two master faders.
The console talks Dante to Rio stageboxes, moving preamps and conversion close to the sources. Processing includes the VCM Premium Rack (Portico EQs and compressors by Rupert Neve Designs, U76, Opt-2A, EQ-1A), plus a full effects rack. It offers 16 DCAs, 8 mute groups, 300 scenes and an iPad stay for StageMix control.
