History & design
Launched in 2012, the Yamaha CL5 is the flagship of the CL series (alongside CL3 and CL1). It handles 72 mono and 8 stereo input channels routed to 16 MIX and 8 MATRIX buses. The surface carries 34 faders across a 16-fader left bank, the central 8-fader Centralogic section, an 8-fader right bank and two master faders.
The console talks Dante to Rio stageboxes, moving preamps and conversion close to the sources. Processing includes the VCM Premium Rack — Portico EQs and compressors by Rupert Neve Designs, U76, Opt-2A, EQ-1A — plus a full effects rack. It offers 16 DCAs, 8 mute groups, 300 scenes and an iPad stay for StageMix control.
