History & design
The Artisan is a router-based digital broadcast console from Logitek: in practice a modular control surface driving a separate DSP/router audio engine, the Audio Engine (AE-32), to which all I/O is wired. Introduced in 2006 and aimed at small/medium-market TV and radio, it offers drop-in modules (fader, monitor, effects, master), an LCD per module, a 5-function dynamics processor and 4-band EQ per fader and per bus, up to 24 mix-minus buses and 5.1 operation.
The same Artisan surface was later qualified to drive the IP-based JetStream Plus engine (AoIP: Dante, then AES67/ST 2110), illustrating Logitek's move from proprietary digital routing to Audio-over-IP. Associated software: Supervisor (scripting/macros) and vScreen (metering banks and router control).
