History & design
The InnovaSON Sy80 is the flagship of the Sy range from the Breton manufacturer InnovaSON, introduced in the mid-2000s. Designed for live sound (front-of-house, monitors), fixed installation and broadcast, it pairs a digital control surface with remote input/output racks connected by the EtherSound network protocol and the proprietary Muxipaire link. The Sy80 offers up to 80 faders, around 104 processing channels and up to 144 outputs, with 48 mix buses.
Each input channel features a 4-band parametric EQ, digital delay, gate and compressor; the outputs provide an 8-band parametric EQ with delay, gate and compressor. The onboard Sensoft software lets each operator define the exact configuration they need, while SmartFAD technology allows the function of any fader to be freely assigned. The local audio rack, "Mix Box", is controlled from the surface and lets outboard gear be inserted directly into the console's signal path.
