Our take
History & design
The SSL Aysis Air is a digital on-air mixing console designed by Solid State Logic for broadcast, for both studio and outside-broadcast (OB) vehicle installations. Its signal path is fully digital. Standalone, it gives access to over 250 inputs/outputs, and can be networked with other SSL products to expand I/O and share resources. MADI connectivity carries up to 56 digital audio channels (32 to 48 kHz). Offered with a choice of compact frame sizes, it comes as the Aysis Air Plus and Aysis Air Mobile, with RIO Grande (I/O) and MADI interface options. It was installed at major broadcasters (WNET, KABC, KGO, WWOR, WLS, WRC…) and adopted in Italy by VideoTime (Berlusconi/Mediaset group).
