History & design
The C100 HD is the HD generation of SSL's C100 broadcast console, designed for demanding live TV production. It is built on the Centuri processing core, an engine designed specifically for live use, offered as Centuri HD Processor and Centuri HD-S Processor options. With the version 4.0 software package the console handles up to 256 fully-featured input channels, plus up to 256 short-channel 'premix' inputs with fader, pan and access to mono, stereo and 5.1 Utility submix busses — up to 512 fader inputs in all.
The surface relies on high-resolution TFT screens for channel metering and status, while a central TFT touchscreen shows the level and status of every mix bus. Connectivity centres on MADI, with 64-channel MADI and AES/EBU I/O cards shared with the C200 and C300. Fully custom-configured — surface, processing, routing and I/O tailored to requirements — the C100 HD targets broadcasters building a complete HD control room.
