History & design
The Korg D3200 is an all-in-one digital recording studio released in 2004: a 32-track multitrack, a digital mixer and an effects engine in a single desktop unit. It records 32 tracks at 16-bit (or 16 tracks at 24-bit) to a 40 GB internal hard drive, with a built-in CD-R/RW burner to produce the master directly.
Its mixer offers 44 channels (32 recorder channels and 12 sub-mixer channels), driven by 16 motorised faders in two banks, plus a dedicated drum-machine fader and a master fader. Automation combines recallable scenes (up to 100 per song) with dynamic automation that records fader and pan moves in real time.
On the input side, the D3200 provides eight XLR mic/line inputs with 48 V phantom power and a high-impedance guitar input; digital I/O includes an optical S/PDIF link and a USB port for file exchange. Processing relies on 128 programmable effects and Korg's in-house REMS modeling, with up to eleven simultaneous effects.
