The Korg Zero8 is an 8-channel digital mixer launched in 2007, conceived as a “core station” for live performers, remixers and computer musicians. It combines a mixer, a FireWire audio interface, a MIDI controller and an effects processor in a single unit.
Each channel accepts a line input (balanced TRS or RCA CD/LINE); channels 1 to 3 add phono inputs, and two mic preamps (XLR/TRS, +48 V phantom) can be assigned to any channel. The FireWire interface (IEEE 1394) carries audio and MIDI at 24-bit up to 192 kHz. Conversion is 24-bit (64× oversampling on input, 128× on output).
Three independent effect processors — an insertable channel effect and KAOSS effects driven from the touch pad (filter, phasing, delay, LFO, pitch shift, tape echo…) — join a three-band EQ with selectable types, a BPM system (auto detection and tap), a crossfader and a balanced XLR master output. The display is a backlit 160×104 touch LCD. Dimensions 450×371×125 mm, 7.3 kg, 52 W.
