History & design
The iLive-T112 is the largest fixed-format surface in Allen & Heath's iLive range, launched in 2008. Like the whole iLive family it separates the control surface from the audio engine: processing (64 channels, 32 mix buses configurable as auxes, groups or matrices, and 8 stereo FX processors) is handled by a remote iDR-series MixRack (iDR-16, 32, 48 or 64) using the RackExtra 64×32 DSP. The T112 surface carries 28 motorised faders across four layers (allowing control of up to 112 channels), a dedicated processing strip with physical controls (preamp, gate, parametric EQ, compressor, limiter) and a touchscreen. The surface-to-MixRack link uses the proprietary ACE (Audio Control Ethernet) protocol over a single Cat5 cable, carrying both audio and control. The system accepts optional network cards (MADI, EtherSound, Dante, Aviom) for touring or install integration.
