The Zaxcom Oasis is a mixing control surface for location sound. It neither records nor processes on its own: it drives a Zaxcom host recorder (Nova 2, Nova, Nomad 12/10, Deva 24) over a single serial cable, with all processing and recording remaining in the host.
It offers 8 motorised, touch-sensitive faders across 3 active banks — up to 40 assignable fader channels — plus hardware trim controls, transport control, dedicated PFL keys and routing. From the Oasis you assign ZaxNet gain control of Zaxcom's digital wireless transmitters and get a full playback function, simultaneous with recording. In Hub mode it interfaces directly with an RX-12 receiver or a USB keyboard; its touch GUI gives access to metadata, expanded metering, matrices and cross-points, and a visual timecode slate. Power draw is remarkably low (2.4 W).
