History & design
Introduced by Yamaha Pro Audio in 2005 and honoured at the 2006 TEC Awards, the M7CL is a digital live-sound console offered in three models: M7CL-32 (32 mic inputs + 4 stereo), M7CL-48 (48 mic + 4 stereo) and, from 2010, the M7CL-48ES, which replaces the 48 internal head amps with two EtherSound ports driving up to three SB168-ES stageboxes.
It provides 16 MIX buses, an LCR bus, 8 MATRIX buses and 8 DCAs, at a 48 kHz sample rate. Its key asset is the Centralogic interface: an eight-fader section and Overview screen that bring digital mixing back to an almost analogue logic, alongside fine access management.
Remote control is via M7CL Editor (PC/Mac) and the StageMix iPad app, designed to set monitor mixes from the stage.
