History & design
The Yamaha DM3 is an ultra-compact digital mixing console introduced in 2023. It offers 22 processing channels (16 mono, 1 stereo and 2 FX returns) with six MIX buses, two FX buses, two matrices and a main stereo bus, all at sampling rates up to 96 kHz.
The surface pairs nine motorised faders (an 8 + 1 layout) with a 9-inch multi-touch screen and a Touch and Turn encoder for hands-on control. Local I/O comprises sixteen D-PRE mic/line inputs (twelve XLR and four XLR/TRS combos) and eight XLR outputs. Processing includes a four-band parametric EQ per channel, graphic EQ on the Mix and stereo buses, and two effect processors offering eighteen effect types.
The DM3 comes in two versions: the DM3-D, with a dual-port Dante interface (PRIMARY and SECONDARY) for network redundancy and 16-in/16-out, and the DM3 Standard without Dante. Both offer a USB-C 18-in/18-out interface, stereo recording to a USB drive and wireless control via the DM3 StageMix app.
