History & design
The Yamaha DM7 is a compact dual-bay digital mixing console unveiled in late 2023. It offers 120 input channels, 48 mix buses, 2 main stereo buses and 12 matrix buses, with internal processing running at 96 or 48 kHz.
The surface carries 24 faders (two banks of twelve) plus 4 dedicated faders, all motorised 100 mm units, and three touchscreens (two 12-inch and one 7-inch). The rear panel provides 32 mic/line inputs with recallable preamps, 16 analogue outputs, a USB audio interface and built-in 144 × 144 Dante. Two PY expansion-card slots add network I/O, such as the PY64-D Dante card with sample-rate conversion.
Processing includes VCM modelling, Rupert Neve Designs-licensed EQ and compressors, and the DaNSe dynamic noise suppressor. The range also includes the DM7 Compact (12 + 4 faders, one 12-inch screen) and the EX versions paired with the DM7 Expansion controller. Remote control is handled by DM7 Editor, DM7 StageMix and the MonitorMix personal-monitor app.
