Unveiled at IBC 2017, the SSL System T S300 is the compact control surface of the System T system, which SSL describes as the first entirely IP-based live-to-air broadcast audio production system: AoIP is the core of the system, not merely an edge connection. The surface comes in 16+1, 32+1 and, since 2018, 48+1 fader versions (S300-48).
The S300 connects to a Tempest T25 (256 paths @48 kHz) or T80 (800 paths @48 kHz) processing engine and runs the same software as the S500 surface and the Tempest Control Rack (TCR). An integrated Dante control API allows arbitrated sharing of audio and control resources from SSL's Network I/O range across the Tempest platform consoles (S500, S300, TCR) and the SSL Live consoles (L500 Plus, L300, L200). AoIP connections support Dante, AES67 and SMPTE ST 2110-30 on the same hardware.
