The VS-2480 is the top of Roland's V-Studio range: a self-contained digital audio workstation combining a 24-track recorder (24-bit / 96 kHz, 384 virtual tracks) with a 64-channel digital mixer derived from the 7000-series V-Mixing System. The surface offers 17 motorised faders with scene recall, 16 rotary encoders, per-channel dynamics and EQ, a large LCD and a VGA output (with mouse and ASCII keyboard) for detailed display.
I/O: 16 balanced inputs (8 XLR/TRS combos + 8 TRS) plus a Hi-Z guitar input, Master and Monitor outputs, four auxiliaries, coaxial and optical digital I/O, and two proprietary R-BUS ports that, via interface boxes, extend the system to 36 inputs and 32 outputs. Two VS8F-2 stereo effect processors are pre-installed (COSM mic/speaker/guitar amp modelling, Mastering Tool Kit), expandable to eight stereo via additional boards. The VS-2480CD and VS-2480DVD variants add a built-in burner.
