Our take
History & design
The Sensory Compact Live is InnovaSON's compact, one-piece digital live console, part of the “Sensory Live Series” (alongside the Essential Live and Grand Live). Announced in early 2001, it uses the company's signature architecture: a fully digital path (A/D at input, 32-bit floating-point DSP, D/A at output) and stage transport over the 64-channel coaxial Muxipair digital snake (up to ~300 m on a coaxial pair).
In its base configuration it offers 32 input channels (expandable to 64 or 96 by linking two or three surfaces), 16 outputs and 47 motorized 100 mm faders (32 input + 15 output). Each channel provides gain, high-pass filter, gate/expander, compressor/limiter, 4-band parametric EQ and delay. The design emphasises integration: I/O cards mount in the rear “doghouse”, a 12″ colour LCD flips down, a keyboard/trackball pulls out and a 3.5″ floppy stores scenes. Control software is Sensoft.
