History & design
The Zoom LiveTrak L-12 is a compact digital mixer paired with a multitrack recorder, introduced in 2017. It takes twelve input channels (eight mono and two stereo) with eight mic preamps on combo XLR/TRS connectors and +48V phantom power.
Each channel has a three-band EQ with a parametric mid, a 45 mm fader and a mute key; sixteen send effects are built in. The recorder captures up to twelve tracks plus the stereo mix to an SD card at 24-bit/96 kHz, with tracks recorded before EQ and effects. The unit also works as a 14-in/4-out USB audio interface.
Its most noted feature remains its five powered headphone outputs, each with a customisable, saveable monitor mix, giving every musician their own blend. The L-12 sits in the LiveTrak series alongside the L-8 and L-20 / L-20R.
