The Soundcraft Ui24R is a rackmountable digital mixer and multitrack recorder, launched in 2017, designed to be controlled entirely remotely. It has no faders: control runs through an HTML5 browser (iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, Linux), with no installation, over built-in dual-band Wi-Fi or Ethernet, for up to 10 simultaneous devices.
The unit offers 24 channels (22 mic/line inputs — 10 XLR/TRS combo including two Hi-Z instrument, 10 XLR mic, one RCA stereo line input — plus two USB playback channels) and 20 Studer-designed preamps with recallable gain. Each channel has a high-pass filter, gate, 4-band parametric EQ, compressor and de-esser; effects come from Lexicon (reverbs, delay, chorus), dbx (AFS2 feedback suppression) and DigiTech (amp modeling). Outputs include XLR/TRS main, 8 balanced XLR aux, and two headphone outs. Multitrack recording captures all 22 inputs and the stereo mix to a USB drive, alongside a stream to the computer. The Ui24R sits at the heart of the HARMAN Connected PA system.
