Our take
History & design
The dLive C1500 is a control surface in Allen & Heath's dLive C Class range, introduced in 2017. Like every dLive surface it drives a MixRack over gigaACE and accesses the same audio engine as the S Class: FPGA XCVI core at 96 kHz, 128 input channels, 64 mix outputs, configurable 64-bus architecture, DEEP Processing and 0.7 ms latency.
The C Class trades the S Class's full redundancy and reinforced build for a more compact, lighter format. The C1500 carries 12 motorised faders across 6 layers (72 fader strips), a 12″ touchscreen and 19 assignable SoftKeys, in a 19″ rack-mountable chassis with titanium side panels, weighing 11.5 kg.
It suits contexts where space and weight come first: small tours, theatre, houses of worship, education and corporate AV — with no compromise on processing power.
