History & design
The dLive S7000 is the flagship control surface of Allen & Heath's dLive S Class range, launched in 2016. It drives a dLive MixRack over a gigaACE link (single or dual-redundant Cat5e) and does not itself hold the audio engine, which lives in the MixRack around the XCVI core — an FPGA architecture clocked at 96 kHz.
The dLive system offers 128 input channels, 64 mix outputs and a configurable 64-bus architecture, with DEEP Processing (compressor and preamp emulations embedded in channels and buses) and 0.7 ms analogue-in to analogue-out latency. The surface carries 36 motorised faders across 6 layers (216 fader strips), two 12″ capacitive touchscreens, 26 assignable SoftKeys and 6 rotaries.
As part of the S Class, the S7000 features dual PSU slots and redundant audio connections, with reinforced construction aimed at touring, broadcast and demanding fixed installation.
