History & design
Introduced in 2018 in cooperation with DirectOut, the Avatus is Stage Tec's IP-based audio production console. It marries haptic-mechanical controls with large customisable touchscreens: each unit lines up 12 colour-coded motorised faders, two 21-inch multi-touch displays and 48 dual-concentric encoders, for surfaces from 12 to 96 faders. Each control channel has two touchscreens, four touch multifunction rotary encoders with dual function, eight buttons and a touch-sensitive motorised fader.
On the processing side, the Avatus offers more than 800 input channels and 128 sum buses, with channel formats from mono to 7.1. A de-esser as a channel module, loudness metering, the Stage Tec automixer and scene automation are integrated. Like all Stage Tec consoles, the Avatus is built into the NEXUS audio network, now with IP-based connections, giving access to near-unlimited I/O resources in every format.
