History & design
The Cadac CDC six is a compact digital mixing console launched in 2015, part of Cadac's CDC series. It carries 20 touch-sensitive motorised 100 mm faders and is driven via a large 23.5-inch optically-bonded HD LCD touchscreen, complemented by a second 6.5-inch screen dedicated to control and automation, along with 24 user-definable colour OLED displays. Its interface emphasises gesture control and minimises menu navigation.
It processes 64 input channels at launch (later raised to 80) and offers 48 assignable buses (up to 56) — groups, stereo groups, auxes, stereo auxes, matrices, plus LCR, monitors and talkback — as well as 16 VCA groups. The proprietary DSP engine, with floating-point SHARC processors, runs at 96 kHz / 24-bit with sub-0.4 ms latency, a 4-band parametric EQ and a 31-band graphic EQ per channel and 16 onboard stereo effects. Onboard connectivity includes 8 mic/line inputs, 8 analog outputs and 4 AES3 I/O, with an integrable Waves SoundGrid card and the proprietary MegaCOMMS audio network.
