History & design
The Qu-24 is a compact 30-in / 24-out digital mixer from Allen & Heath, launched in 2014 alongside the Qu-32 to complete the Qu-16. It is built around an in-house FPGA DSP engine clocked at 48 kHz.
The console carries 24 recallable AnalogiQ preamps (zero-crossing detection, padless 1 dB-step gain) and presents one fader per input: 25 motorised faders (24 mono channels + master), plus 3 stereo channels. The interface centres on a 7″ colour touchscreen with a dedicated encoder and on the SuperStrip, a set of single-function physical controls (gain, HPF, 4-band PEQ, gate, compressor, GEQ, pan).
Mixing offers the LR bus, 10 mix buses configurable as aux or group, 4 stereo groups, 2 stereo matrices, 4 stereo FX engines, 4 DCAs and 4 mute groups. Digital connectivity includes a 32×30 USB interface, Qu-Drive multitrack recording to USB media, and a dSNAKE port to connect a stagebox (AB168, AR2412, AR84) or ME-1 personal monitoring over a single Cat5 cable.
