Euphonix
Euphonix was founded in 1988 in Palo Alto, California by Scott Silfvast and Adam Reif, soon joined by Rob Silfvast (Scott's brother) and Andrew Kalman. The company pioneered the large-format digitally-controlled analog mixing console: its first product, the Crescendo, was delivered to Poolside Studios in 1990. The CSII, CS2000 (1994) and CS3000 followed. Euphonix went public on NASDAQ in 1995 (ticker EUPH). From 1999 the analog line was gradually phased out in favour of the all-digital System 5. In April 2010 Avid announced the acquisition of Euphonix; its EuCon control technology was subsequently folded into the Avid/Pro Tools ecosystem.
