The Euphonix System 5-B is the broadcast variant of the System 5, Euphonix's large digital console. The internal audio path is 32-bit floating point, the DSP runs 40-bit floating-point math, and converters accept 16-, 20- or 24-bit I/O.
The system is built around a DF66 SuperCore mix engine, an SC264 System Computer and an integrated MADI router (SH612 then SH624: up to 1536 × 1536 signal paths at 48 kHz). The surface is modular and scalable, with application-specific controls (for example dual joysticks and a film monitor panel). The DF66 engine accepts 1 to 6 x 120 MHz DSP cards, for up to about 334 channels at 48 kHz (176 at 96 kHz). The console handles all standard formats (mono, stereo, LCR, LCRS, 5.1, 7.1) up to 16 multiformat stems of 8 buses each. For live work, a CO600 MADI changeover switch provides redundancy.
