History & design
The PRO1 is the most compact digital console in Midas's PRO series, introduced in 2011. It carries the architecture and audio engine of the larger PRO desks (managed latency, 40-bit floating-point processing) in a lightweight aluminium frame, built for touring, theatre, club and small-scale capture.
It offers 48 simultaneously processed input channels feeding 27 phase-coherent mix buses (16 configurable buses + 8 matrices, plus masters), with 24 onboard Midas mic preamps. Conversion and transport rely on the AES50 network: up to 172 inputs and 172 outputs at 96 kHz can be assigned dynamically scene by scene, and the three AES50 ports let the mic-input count reach 96 via stageboxes.
The surface relies on motorised 'PRO FADER' faders (rated for a million cycles), a colour screen and Midas's familiar 'channel strip' ergonomics. The PRO1 targets the operator who wants the sound and workflow of the larger PRO desks in a one-person-portable format.
