Our take
History & design
The Midas PRO X is the largest and most powerful model in the PRO series, unveiled in March 2014. It processes 168 input channels and offers 99 mix buses (96 buses plus L, R and mono) or 103 outputs, with a further 288 inputs and 294 outputs available over the AES50/HyperMAC network at 96 kHz.
Its core is the Neutron engine, the result of a three-year R&D programme built on an FPGA and MIMD architecture delivering more than 100 gigaflops of real-time audio processing. Its 800 audio channels can be re-routed on every automation scene. The console keeps the 40-bit floating-point processing and managed latency shared across the PRO series.
Dante- and CobraNet-compatible via the Klark Teknik DN9650 network bridge, the PRO X is aimed at large tours, IEM-heavy houses of worship and broadcast productions.
