Our take
History & design
The Sigma is a Calrec digital broadcast production console built on the high-density Bluefin processing platform. It offers 320 processing paths and configures for up to 52 full 5.1 channels and 20 auxiliaries. Its faders are assignable: the operator chooses which faders drive mono channels, stereo channels, surround masters or groups, valuable flexibility for tailoring the console to each production. Auto-faders are assigned to channel and group paths by selecting from the lists and hitting 'Patch'. A typical configuration has 64 faders in a 6:6:6 frame.
