Our take
History & design
The S6 M10 is the entry point to the S6 range, the modular control surface born from folding EUCON (inherited from Euphonix) into the Avid ecosystem. It comes in 8, 16 or 24 motorised faders and centres on the Master Touch & Automation module, joined by Fader, Processor and Knob modules (up to five knobs per channel, ten modules total).
Compared with the M40, the M10 drops per-channel Display Modules and is limited to controlling two workstations at once over EUCON. It controls Pro Tools deeply and, more broadly, any EUCON-compatible application (Nuendo, Logic Pro, Cubase). The S6 was replaced at the entry level by the S4 in 2019.
