Unveiled in 2015, Avid's VENUE S6L is not a single-box console but a three-part modular system: a control surface (offered as 16C, 24C, 24D, 32D and 48D, from 24+2 to 64+2 faders), an E6L processing engine (E6L-112, 144, 192 or E6LX-256) and Stage I/O racks linked over an AVB network.
The system handles up to 192 inputs and 96 outputs, with up to 256 processing channels depending on the engine, at 96 kHz. Its defining feature is HDX DSP power running 64-bit AAX plug-ins directly in the mix path, plus native Pro Tools integration for multitrack record and playback. Option cards add Dante and MADI on the Stage racks.
