History & design
Announced in 2019, the S4 is a semi-modular control surface that condenses the S6 experience. It takes up to three Channel Strip Modules (8, 16 or 24 motorised faders), a Master Touch Module with a tilting 12.1-inch touchscreen, an Automation Module with jog/shuttle wheel, up to four Display Modules and three optional modules.
Like the rest of the family it speaks EUCON and deeply controls Pro Tools, Nuendo, Logic Pro and other compatible applications, up to two at once. It sits between the S1/Dock and the S6 in Avid's surface range.
