History & design
Launched in September 2016, the QSC TouchMix-30 Pro is the big sibling of the TouchMix-8 and TouchMix-16. It targets bands, houses of worship and small venues that want a complete digital console without the space or budget of a fader desk.
It offers 32 input channels (24 mic/line inputs on Class-A preamps, 6 line inputs and one stereo input) into 16 outputs. Each channel carries a four-band parametric EQ with variable high- and low-pass filters, a noise gate and a compressor; the engine adds reverbs, delays, echo, chorus and assignable pitch correction. Anti-Feedback and Room Tuning wizards, two real-time analysers and a patch matrix round out the toolkit.
All interaction runs through a 10-inch colour touchscreen and a rotary encoder; there are no physical faders. The console is also controlled wirelessly from an iOS or Android tablet, which makes it easy to tweak monitors from the stage. It records 32 tracks straight to an external USB drive in 32-bit Broadcast Wave format, and serves as an audio interface to a Mac over Core Audio.
