Fairlight

Fairlight is an Australian brand (Sydney) founded in 1975 by Kim Ryrie and Peter Vogel, which made history with the Fairlight CMI, one of the first digital samplers. Refocused on pro audio production (editing/mixing workstations and control surfaces for post-production and broadcast), Fairlight was for years Digidesign's main high-end rival. The company was acquired by Blackmagic Design in September 2016; Fairlight technology now lives at the heart of the audio side of DaVinci Resolve.
